Paint Your own Vehicle

August 22, 2010 by Sam

Although, the concept of painting your personal rims has been around a couple of years now, many questions pop up of how you can do it and I thought I would share my personal experiences with painting my Integra stock rims. I have study up numerous examples of how to do this, but my initial time attempting was this year when I selected to refinish my winter rims. I was very please with the outcome. Initial, what the hell do you need to paint your rims? Paint of course :) This really is where Duplicolor comes in with their wheel paint. They provide paint colors to match your style coming in white, gunmetal, traditional silver and bronze as well. I selected to do mine in gunmetal leaving my lip the stock polished style look. So listed here are your choices: So you chose your color, bought your paint and are semi-ready. First, you have to sand down your rims. Why? This provides the surface area a rough texture so the paint has something to adhere to. Reference the write-up to polish your rims on how sanding of the rims works. The only difference with this really is how far you would like to go. In my case, becoming winter rims painted I selected not to go via the process of stripping the paint on the rims completely. I merely sanded down the surface area with 300 grit sandpaper ensuring to make everything sanded equally. This gives the rough surface area needed for the paint to adhere, and as long as your rims had no harm it ought to be good sufficient. Your rims are sanded; you have your paint and now are ready. Initial, make sure you clean all sanding dust off the rims and ensure a completely clean surface so the paint will stick and not flake away following your first drive out with your newly painted rims!!! Here are my rims washed and prepared to totally dry before painting: My rims are masked off with newspaper and masking tape. Of course you would like to complete this which means you don’t turn your tires into the colour you are painting. I do not want gunmetal painted tires. Also should you appear close sufficient, you’ll know that the lip has been masked away too. So I carefully applied the masking tape on the lip to guard it from being painted as well. Also, you know the small thing you pump your air into, mask that off too unless you want that to have a colour change as well , and if you are thinking about to comprar autos usados or buy new car, you can paint them as you like. So do not be afraid to buy cars in Buenos Aires “venta de autos usados en buenos aires
